Story Project @ Newbury Library

Windsor and Carisbrooke have been working on a story project, with Newbury Library, since January. We visited Newbury Library and the librarian read to us and gave us lots of free copies of five books to review, as part of the Book Trust story time prize.

BookTrust Storytime Prize

This new prize celebrates and promotes the best books for sharing with young children. We are looking for books which have wide appeal to parents and carers across our diverse nation, and for stories which can be read and enjoyed over and over again.

Both classes worked very hard, listening to sensory stories, writing reviews and making artwork linked to the books. We then went back to the library and gave all of our work to the librarian, who made a beautiful display. We were very excited to go back and see our display. Both classes voted and the overwhelming winner was Look Out Hungry Snake - which book is your favourite?

If you would like to see the display, it will be up, at the front of Newbury Library, for the next couple of weeks.
