Welcome Back
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that everyone managed to have a good Easter.
As we return to school for this term, I thought that I would issue our latest protocols again just so that everyone is clear on what we need to do in respect of Covid-19. Even though coronavirus is not in the news as much, it is still very much with us and schools are still experiencing staff shortages due to the illness. As you will know, we try our hardest to ensure that classes can remain open, but there may be times when it is simply not possible to have a safe level of staffing in a particular class. If this is the case, then we will have to close that particularly class. I will always try and give as much notice as possible of any closure, although sometimes the absences may not come through until the morning.
I continue to be hopeful that cases of Covid-19 will continue to reduce, especially with the advent of improved weather.
To keep everyone safe please do follow the attached protocols, especially the following guidance:
- Adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature.
- Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend.
- Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice will be 3 days.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
Jon Hewitt
