World Mental Health Day
Dunnottar and Flint planned activities for everyone to do across the school for World Mental Health Day on Wednesday 10th October. They had to think about each Key Stage and the activities they could access and might enjoy. At Post 16, students took part in a range of different activities aimed towards discovering and practising activities that may help us to be calm and feel relaxed. Sensory exploration, puppy play, art therapy and visualization relaxation took place, and everyone enjoyed and embraced taking part in the activities. Leading on from this, students sat two mornings of practice exam papers which can be extremely stressful. Students coped incredibly well and implemented some of the strategies from Wednesday afternoon but also took part in a social hour allowing for relaxation and development of social skills with peers. #HandsUp4HealthyMinds
